Happy Saturday Afternoon to my Grace Vineyard Family and Friends.
It’s time for our weekly update. I hope you’ve been having another great one here in beautiful Oceanside. I know Today was GREAT – I was able to come to my first Men’s Breakfast since we started meeting on the terrace at the back of the theater. I love it! Our own men (I think it was Christian Twombly and Matt Evans, but I’m not even sure) cooked a delicious pancake, eggs, and bacon breakfast; Kent Franke led us in some wonderful God-Exalting worship, and Chaplain Jason DiPinto brought a really great teaching from Psalm 128 about what it means to be a man of God. I was definitely built up. If you’re a man and you missed this one, you can already mark your calendar for the 2nd Saturday in November when we’ll be back here again. It’s great way to start out your Saturday. I wasn’t with the women, but I know you all had another wonderful Ladie’s Walk in the beauty of creation, building warm community with each other. Ladies, if you missed it, you too can mark your calendars for the 2nd Saturday of the month (don’t quote me on this quite yet, but with the Women’s Retreat landing on November 14-16th next month, it might be the case that the monthly walk will be on hold for November…stay tuned to this channel for updates on that).
“Confident in the Good News” was Awesome!
Eddie and Bethany Roach and their family were with us last Sunday, and boy did Eddie bring a great message! If you missed it, I put a link to the Youtube video of it just before this sentence. If you’re driving, you can listen to it on our GraceTalks.org podcast, but I’d recommend you watch this one if possible, because Eddie included several little videos and photos that you won’t want to miss from their amazing ministry in Cambodia. Here’s the GraceTalks podcast link if you’re going the audio only route:
The Three Rs of Grace
I’m sure you’ve heard of “The 3 Rs of Education” (Reading, wRiting, and aRithmetic). I’ve been thinking that it has been several years since I’ve brought a Sunday morning message on what we believe is the particular mission and vision that God has given us as a church at Grace Vineyard, and it just happens to be that it is a 3 Rs situation as well. And while we can say it succintly with the phrase “Real God, Real People, Restoring Lives”, there is a actually quite a lot of scripture and understanding packed into our calling, and I feel it’s very important to remind us of these essential truths. I would love it if everyone who calls Grace Vineyard their home would have a full understanding of our calling, so I hope you can all be with us this week. If you’re not able to join us tomorrow at 9:30, you can join us online on Zoom with this link: Zoom Meeting ID 153 112 432, Passcode 684814. You can also find our livestream on Facebook Live at facebook.com/gracevcf.
Prayer After Church This Sunday
This Sunday is the 2nd Sunday of the month, and that means it’s time for our after church prayer meeting. It starts right after church and lasts for 1 hour (but you can leave any time to accommodate your schedule). We pray for anything and everything, and we have a creative way to move from prayer focus to prayer focus. I hope you’ll dive in and join us this week!
