Happy Saturday, Grace Vineyard Family and Friends of Grace Vineyard.

Just wanting to touch base with you for a quick “weekly update”.

I’ll start by reminding everyone that Mom2Mom is meeting at the beach next Saturday.

Mom 2 Mom Goes to the Beach Saturday, August 2nd

The Mom2Mom group will be meeting on August 2 starting at noon in front of the picnic shelter at Oceanside Harbor, we’ll be having hamburgers, hot dogs and chicken sausages.  Bring sides or snacks to share and your own drinks.  Look for the pop up with pink balloons.  Call/text Sheri Winter for more information 760.208.8403.

And I’ll also just remind you once more about our Zambia missions trip.  We leave in just over a week!

Zambia Missions Team Leaves August 4th

I’m excited to be returning to Zambia in just over a week on Monday, August 4th.  We’ll be there until August 20th.  Our team consists of my son Bryce, our friend Emilio Montaño, and me.  You can read more details about our trip here:  gracevcf.org/zambia-mission-2025.  This Sunday Will Felton will be in the building signing people up who are interested in joining a prayer intercession team to support us in prayer while we’re in Africa. If you already know you’ll be interested in that, just make sure you have installed the Whatsapp app on your phone, as that will be the means of communicating the prayer needs and online prayer meetings.  I can also report that we are close to being fully funded.  We can still use about $1,000.  And if there is an avalanche of generosity that blows past our planned  budget, be assured we will use any extra donations  to care for impoverished people in Zambia who are suffering under the weight of a record setting drought.  Many people are going hungry with food scarcity.  We have an excellent distribution system through the Vineyard churches in Zambia, so donations are really appreciated!  The link for donating for this mission is:  gracevcf.org/donate-zambia.

Pursuing Unity Week 3

I’ve been having some great interactions with you all regarding this current series.  We’ve been talking about the importance of pursuing unity and growing in relational health to do that.  In week 1 we talked about the art of loving confrontation, last week we talked about the healing power of forgiveness, and this week were going to tackle another relational skill – avoiding the subtle trap of judgement.  We cause ourselves so much unnecessary relationship pain when we try to guess the motivation or intentions of another person’s actions.  Many of us do this so automatically that we don’t even realize that we’re doing it.  Somebody doesn’t reply to a text message and we judge their intentions as purposely avoiding us because we just know they’re mad at us for something. Somebody doesn’t say “hi” to us in the lobby and we’re certain they looked right at us, so we judge their intentions as rejecting us for some reason that we’re sure of.  This is the subtle trap of judgement – judging another person’s motives – and it causes all sorts of needless emotional pain.  Let’s talk about it tomorrow. f you’re not able to be with us in person,  you can join us online on Zoom with this link: Zoom Meeting ID  153 112 432, Passcode 684814.  You can also find our livestream on Facebook Live at facebook.com/gracevcf.

Here’s the sermon from last week on the healing power of forgiveness.  I wasn’t able to get to some of the points in my notes that I really wanted to share with you, so I’ll include a link to the notes right after the video link.

Here’s the link to the notes (which have some important points that didn’t make it into my talk): Pursuing-Unity-Week-2-Online-Handout
