Hello Grace Vineyard Family and Friends.
We’re rolling into the last Sunday of May, and I have a very short Weekly Update to share with you. I usually like to tell you about upcoming events, and this is one of those rare weeks where we don’t have a bunch of extra activities happening in the next 7 days – just the normal rhythm of our Sunday morning service, our Sunday Evening “Sanctuary” Service, and home groups throughout the week. That’s fine with me as May has been a really full month, especially this last week – Bryce and Andrea got married on Thursday! – and I’m still hanging with family today. I’ll start this update by telling you a little bit about what’s in store for Sunday morning:
American Idol – Recognizing the Graven Images in Our Culture

I wanted to focus my time on my son’s wedding this week, so I asked Matt Evans to bring the message this Sunday. His message is called “American Idol – recognizing the graven images in our culture”. People today worship images just like they did in ancient times. We’ll talk about some of the idols in our culture, and how we can respond to them with the perspective of the Kingdom of God.
The previous two Sundays, I brought some teaching on prayer. Last week I spoke about the posture of prayer, and if you would like hear or listen to that talk, you can catch it right here on our Gracetalks.org podcast or our YouTube channel.
We hope you can join us tomorrow in person at 102 N Freeman Street at 9:30 am, but if you can’t be there, here’s the info you need to join us online: join us online on Zoom with this link Zoom Meeting ID 153 112 432, Passcode 684814 and you can also find our livestream on Facebook Live at facebook.com/gracevcf.
Have a wonderful rest of your Saturday, and we’ll see you in the morning for worship and the Word and some great fellowship.
With blessings and love to each of you,
Ron Ohst
