Hello Grace Vineyard Family and Friends,
As you can see from the African Safari “Weekly Updates” graphic, I’m still in Africa. It’s Friday night here, and I’m trying to get a quick hello to you all before I retire for the evening. This is our last weekend here, so I’ll be back in person with you on Sunday the 23rd.
We’ve had a great week with the kids and staff of Breath of Heaven Children’s Village.
Last night the older kids came over to the house where our team is staying and put on a worship night. It was beautiful.
We had a really fun Field Day with tug-o-war, sack race, water balloon toss, sponge/water relay…just a bunch of fun games to connect with the kids. We also brought with us gifts to give to the house mothers. That was a very special moment when we gave gave them those gifts and had an opportunity to pray for them. They so appreciated being thought of and requested that we pray ofor them as often as we can, as their jobs can become overwhelming caring for so many kids.
Tomorrow (Saturday) is the wedding of our son Mika and his fiance Sandra. And I get to be the one officiating the wedding. What a joy this journey of orphan care has been!
We’ll head back to the states on Monday morning, so please keep our health in your prayers as we’d like to come back whole!
The Kingdom of God has Come Near, Week 2 – The Fulfillment
Last Sunday, Steve Rogers began a 2-week series called “The Kingdom Has Come Near”. In the first week he looked at Luke 4:14-30 where Jesus announces the Kingdom of God has come near and describes what God is doing. In Week 2, The Fulfillment, Steve will take us to Luke 4:31-44 where what Jesus announced begins happening.

For the Ladies: You’re invited to join us at the Vineyard Yorba Linda’s Standing Firm one day conference. Anita Ruis, David Ruis’s wife, will be the speaker.
