Hello Grace Vineyard Family and Friends,

I hope you have been able to stay cool this week!  I know I am VERY thankful for air conditioning. Hopefully we’re starting a cooling trend now!

It’s time for another Grace Vineyard Weekly Update.  Here’s what’s coming up this weekend at Grace Vineyard:

Bethany Roach – This Sunday Morning

Bethany Roach, along with 2 of her children – Annajak and Miles – are with us this week!  By now, most of you know the Roach Family – Eddie, Bethany, Ching Ching, Annajak, and Miles.  They are our missionaries to Cambodia.  Due to a long, complicated, visa/immigration problem, Eddie and Ching Ching were unable to come this year as planned.  Bethany will be bringing us an update from their work in Cambodia, and bringing a message called “Grateful – how our attitdue and choices anchor us to the truth.”  Bethany is an amazing minister of the Gospel, and I know you and I are going to be equipped and inspired tomorrow morning.  This is truly a “Don’t Miss This One” situation!

I hope to see all of you at 9:30AM, but if for some reason you are not able to join us in person, you can still join us on line.  Here’s the info you need for that:  join us online on Zoom with this link Zoom Meeting ID  153 112 432, Passcode 684814 and you can also find our livestream on Facebook Live at facebook.com/gracevcf.

Last Sunday’s Stories from Zambia

Last week, 3 members of our Zambia team shared some stories from our missions trip, and I shared just a little bit on the topic of “Developing A Kingdom Worldview”, framing our missions work and all of our lives in the worldview of the Kingdom of God that Jesus taught and demonstrated for us.  You can watch our presentation here:

or listen to it on our Gracetalks.org podcast right here:

And just for fun, if you’d like to watch the update videos that Paul Dabdoub made while we were in Zambia, we’ve just uploaded those to our YouTube channel.  There are 4 update videos, and here they are:

Missions Trip to Malaysia October 11-November 3

With all the recent updates from our Zambia Missions trip, we’ve got International Missions on our minds.  Perhaps some of you are feeling a tug on your heart to go on a missions trip to share the love and power of Jesus and His Kingdom in another place and culture.  Steve and Lisa Rogers, along with Mark Newell, will be going to Malaysia on a missions trip in October, and there’s still room for some more of us to join them. They depart from California on October 11th, and will be returning on November 3rd.  Soon we’ll be talking about their trip on Sunday mornings so we can all start praying and supporting this work, but if you’d like to know more right away, just give Steve a call at 760-500-4324, and he’ll tell you everything you need to know.

Ladies One Day Conference Saturday, September 26th 9am-5pm

This week we’ll enter into September, so the ladies conference we’ve been advertizing for a while now is about to land!  Ladies, you’re invited to join us at the Vineyard Yorba Linda’s Standing Firm one day conference.  Anita Ruis, David Ruis’s wife, will be the speaker.  We’ll meet at the church to carpool at 7:30am and leave at 7:45.  Cost is $40 and includes breakfast and lunch.  Here’s the link to register:https://vineyardyorbalinda.churchcenter.com/registrations/events/3598139  Kim told me she’s going, so you know it’s going to be good!   I’ve heard nothing but great things about Anita Ruis. She and her husband David are the national directors of the Vineyard Canada, and they have a very rich history in the body of Christ.  I hope you all will take advantage of this great opportunity.

Next Mom2Mom is September 25

Also coming up in September, our next Mom2Mom group will be on September 25, at 6pm.  Are you a mom in need of support from other moms? Or are you a mom who has been there and wants to lend your support to others?  Then you are welcome to Mom 2 Mom, a peer to peer and mentoring group designed to uplift, enrich, share and connect moms.  We’ll gather Friday, September 25th at 6pm at Grace Vineyard on the terrace for a program that will include sharing a meal, connecting, and inspiration.  Childcare will be provided- please let Sheri know how many kids/what ages.  To find out more, call Sheri Winter at 760.208.8403.

Once again, I want to remind us all of our Sunday Night meeting, Sanctuary.  It’s getting better and better as each week goes by.

“Sanctuary” is a community of Grace Vineyard that gathers around the table for a meal and conversation. Followed by worship through music and a message.
We start at 6p.m. Sunday night. Hope to see you 💞

Nepal Flood Disaster

By now most of you will have seen the news about the sudden flooding that has brought devastation to Nepal.   We’ll be praying for these dear people in the service tomorrow, but you might be wondering already if there is a way you can help out financially as well as with the power of prayer.  Earlier this year we hosted Noel Isaacs, the national director of the Vineyard Himalayas association of Vineyard churches.  We are collecting funds, along with the Yorba Linda Vineyard, to send to them to care for the people of this region.  Many people are missing, and many people have lost their lives.  In a recent Facebook post, Noel let us know that of 17 Vineyard people that went missing, only 7 survived, and 10 have gone to be with the Lord.  Please join with us in praying for our sisters and brothers there in Nepal.   There will be so much work in rebuilding what this flood has destroyed, and in caring for those who are injured and those who have lost loved ones.  If you’d like to send money to help with the relief effort, you can go to gracevcf.org/donate-nepal to send money to the Vineyard churches there.  Lord, hear our prayers.  Lord, have mercy!

God bless you this Saturday, and I hope to see you tomorrow.
With blessings and love to each of you,

Ron Ohst

Tithes and Offerings Online

THANKS for taking ownership in the life and ministry of Grace Vineyard!  And thanks to all of you who are stepping into a lifestyle of generosity with your tithes and offerings.  It really does take all of us doing our part with the income God has entrusted to us for His church. If you’d like to give your tithe or offering online, click the donate button below.  If you’re giving to a specific fund (like benevolence or missions), just be sure to say that when you are given an option to add a note with your donation.
