Hello Grace Vineyard and Friends of Grace Vineyard.  Happy Saturday to you all!

I just checked with almanac.com to confirm my suspicions about the beginning of Fall, and sure enough, Fall began last Saturday.  I’m in Vista in the backyard of my dad’s house this morning, and it definitely feels like the season has shifted – very cold this morning!  I’m thankful for the changing of seasons and the never ending cycle of new beginnings.  I hope you’re all enjoying some new beginnings in your life.

Here’s a new beginning for Grace Vineyard – Christian Twombly is launching a new Home Group on Friday night in the Upper Room, starting next Friday

When he was talking with me about it, Christian told me his fond memories of his early days at Grace and being invited to a home group where he could bring his children as he and Shani joined the adults for fellowship, worship, Bible discussion, and prayer.  The Upper Room is our youth group room and is perfect for this kind of setup because there are actually 2 rooms, so if children come, there’s a separate place for them to have fun while the parents enjoy fellowship with the other adults.  Give Christian a call at 760-622-4945 for all the details.

Final Days To Sign Up For

Daughters of Destiny Women’s Retreat

We’ll be hosting our Daughters of Destiny Women’s Retreat at Pine Valley October 20-22.  Our Speaker is Dianne Leman and I’m very excited to see what the Lord will be depositing in our ladies through her teaching.  She co-pastored a Vineyard church with her husband for over 40 years and has been a part of the Vineyard USA executive team. The cost will be $230 for private bath lodge rooms, $210 for shared bath lodge rooms and $180 for dorm rooms.  If you pay online www.gracevcf.org or in person, please note that it’s for the women’s retreat. Please email kimohst@gmail.com or text Kim Ohst at 760.519.4558 to let her know what type of room you are reserving.  We have limited availability.  The retreat is almost here, so your window of opportunity to sign up is quickly closing.  If you have already signed up, there are important registration papers to fill out – please stop by the retreat table after church to get more details.

Make & Bake Sale Tomorrow, October 1, For Women’s Retreat

On Sunday, (tomorrow) October 1st, right after church, we’ll be having another “Make & Bake” sale to raise funds for the women’s retreat. We’ll be selling much more than your typical Bake Sale stuff to raise money for retreat scholarships and other retreat costs.  I know it’s Saturday, but just in case you’d still like to sign up to bring something or to help with setup or clean up, please call Kim Ohst for more details 760.519.4558.

Breath of Heaven Fundraiser Banquet

It’s time for this year’s Breath of Heaven annual fundraising dinner.  If you’ve been around Grace Vineyard on Sundays for very long, you’re bound to have heard about Breath of Heaven, the orphan care ministry in Zambia, Africa that Grace Vineyard Missions ministry supports.  As you know, a team from of us just returned from our most recent visit.  What’s been accomplished already is just amazing, but there’s still more in the vision.  Please join us on Thursday, October 19th, at the Monserate Winery in Fallbrook for our fundraising dinner.  You’ll hear about all that we’re doing to care for orphans and widows, and you’ll be invited to join us in this incredible ministry.   Just go to https://bohzambia.reachapp.co/donations/new  to register for the dinner (under the “Purpose” drop-down menu, select “Fundraising Dinner”)  and then join us on October 19th.  You’ll be so glad you did (this ministry has changed my whole family’s life!).

Invisible Inheritance

This Sunday I’ll be sharing a word the Lord spoke to me this last month.  Most of you know that my father died on September 3rd, while I was in Africa.  Over the course of the month, beginning while I was teaching at the Vineyard school of ministry for the Zambia Vineyard, I began having experiences regarding the idea of “Spiritual Inheritance”.  Then, back in California one morning, while I was thinking of the legacy I live in from having a wonderful, godly father all these years, I was thanking God for the spiritual heritage He has given me.  I heard Him say in my spirit, “You have no idea!”, and then I heard the words, “Invisible Inheritance”.  I knew there was something He would be revealing to me about these words, and as I prayed about it, I felt like I would sharing with you what the Lord was sharing with me, so that’s what I’m planning for tomorrow morning at Grace.  I hope you’ll be able to join us for worship and some time in the Word as I share my heart and some of my personal experiences.  I think you’ll be encouraged.  If you you are not able to join us in person tomorrow, you can join us online via zoom with this info:  Zoom Meeting ID  153 112 432, Passcode 684814. You may also join us on Facebook Live at facebook.com/gracevcf.

Enjoy the rest of your Saturday, and I’ll see you tomorrow.

With love and blessings to each of you,

Ron Ohst
