Hello Grace Vineyard and friends of Grace!

It’s Friday afternoon again, so it’s time to send you all a quick Grace Vineyard Update email.  Here we go…

Welcome Back Nicko Ostby This Sunday Morning

It’s been 6 months since Nicko Ostby spoke here in December, but that one encounter is still bearing fruit!  I met Nicko at a meeting that Dustin Nelson took me to with a bunch of on fire, young church planters, and immediately wanted you to experience the inspiration I was experiencing as Nicko told the crowd about his passion for telling people about Jesus.  Nicko was born and spent his early years in Indonesia where his dad grew a “small” church network of about 500,000 new believers with mostly Muslim backgrounds.  He now lives in Malibu and works in Hollywood as an actor, a model, and a Rap artist, and is having impact on the artist community there, sharing Jesus pretty naturally when he’s on set.  He’ll just crack open his Bible when he’s not filming a scene, and the conversations get going (if you’re interested in his music, check out this Youtube Channel.)  The video link above is from when he spoke here in December, 2022; check it out to get a taste of what you might experience this coming Sunday.  Kim and I will be flying to North Carolina on Sunday morning for the Vineyard National Conference, and  I’ve asked Nicko to speak at Grace Vineyard while we’re gone.  I think you’d definitely want to bring some friends with you this week.  God has been teaching Nicko about praying for healing in recent months, and he’s planning on telling you what he’s been learning from the Lord on that topic.  Be prepared from some great stories and practical applications for your lives!

The Vineyard National Conference we’re going to will be July 31-August 3rd.  If you’d like to watch any of the livestreams of the conference meetings, you can do that by clicking here: https://conference.vineyardusa.org/livestream-rsvp

Let’s Eat Together on August 13th

I love the “Created For Community” sign the women’s ministry created and hung in our lobby.  We really are created for community, and one great way to build community is over a meal.  So we’re going to do another all-church potluck on Sunday, August 13th.  It will be right after the service.  There’ll be a place in the lobby this Sunday for you to sign up to bring your favorite dish.  It’s always a blessing having lunch with each other.

August Missions Trips

We’ve got a couple teams going on missions trips out of Grace Vineyard next month.  We’ll tell you more details at upcoming Sunday services, but for now we’d love your prayers for us.  First, Thelma Gay and Jennifer Rowe Goodwin are going to Rwanda the 2nd week of August.  They’ll be ministering both to orphans and to a women’s conference.  Then on August 29th, Traci Blagg, a new friend named Alyssa, and I will be leaving for Zambia.  We’ll be serving once again at Breath of Heaven Children’s Village in Lusaka, and I will also be going with Mika and Katongo from Breath of Heaven to Ndola, where I’ll be teaching at a school of ministry for the Vineyard churches in Zambia.  (Ndola is about an hour away via airplane from Lusaka).

Have a wonderful weekend, and I’ll see you when we get back (plus I’ll try to join the Sunday service online while we’re traveling to North Carolina).

Blessings and love to each of you,

Ron Ohst

Tithes and Offerings Online

THANKS for taking ownership in the life and ministry of Grace Vineyard!  And thanks to all of you who are stepping into a lifestyle of generosity with your tithes and offerings.  It really does take all of us doing our part with the income God has entrusted to us for His church. If you’d like to give your tithe or offering online, click the donate button below.

P.S.

Don’t forget we’re needing to build up our building fund for some important improvements around our Grace Vineyard home.  If you’d like to give a special offering, just make sure to mention “building fund” in the “what’s this donation for” section of the online giving system.  Thanks!
