Hello Grace Vineyard and Friends!

It’s Friday again, so that means it’s time for our weekly update.  As I write this, it’s opening night for Seussical Jr.  Here’s a picture from the opening number:

I’m a big fan of youth performing arts, and I’m really thankful our church family is blessed with this beautiful theater that we can in turn use to bless our city.  California Artists Academy is a faith-based performing arts conservatory for kids 8-18.  Their production of Seussical Jr. is this weekend and next on Friday at 7pm and Saturday at 2pm and 7pm.  I hope you’ll be able to come on out and support the kids as you enjoy a great show.

Launch Party for Sunday Nights

Sunday night we’re going to have a party!  It’s time to launch our Sunday Night Service, so we figured a great way to begin is with a dinner that we can invite the neighborhood to. We’ve invited our favorite chef and friend, Todd Hannan, to cater some fun, delicious food for us. For dessert, we’ll be enjoying the baking skills of our congregation  – it will start with a Baking Contest, and I’ve been paying attention to the folks who are planning on entering….there  are going to be some amazing baked desserts to sample.  To make it just that much more fun, the winner of the contest will go home with a $50 gift certificate to Bed, Bath, & Beyond where you’ll be able to pick up some new baking gadgets.  We’ll have some great fellowship, face painting for the kids, delicious food,  a short time of worship, a short encouraging word…we might even throw in some fun games to play while we’re at it. Don’t Miss it! 5PM on Sunday night.

Invite the Neighborhood

A group of us are going to hand out some invitation fliers in the neighborhoods around the church on Saturday at 10am.  This is a great way to meet our neighbors and see if some of our connections turn into Holy Hello’s (we’ve always had some of those divine appointments whenever we do this!).  Meet at the church at 10am to join us.

Launch Party is Just the Beginning

Keep in mind, the launch part on Sunday night is just the launch! Next week we’ll begin meeting every Sunday night at 6pm for another opportunity to gather for fellowship, worship, the Word, and Spirit-empowered Prayer Ministry.  Pastor Steve Rogers will be leading this meeting.  If you have any questions, contact Steve at 760-500-4324 or srogers@gracevcf.org.

It’s Time For Another Baptism

If you’re a follower of Jesus, did you know you are called to get baptized?  Watch for more details, but we’re planning on going down to the beach at Tyson Park on Sunday, August 22nd at 12pm.  We’ll do a BBQ right after the baptism to make it a great afternoon.  If you’d like to get baptized, or if you have some questions about what baptism is all about, let us know by texting “baptism” to 760-237-4393, or emailing us at info@gracevcf.org.

Big Texas BBQ for the Men

Men – last Saturday we joined with men from other congregations in North County for the Promise Keepers Simulcast.  Those church’s men’s ministries are looking to launch a Regional Men’s Ministry, and to start building momentum, we are invited to a Big Texas BBQ at The River Gardens in Vista – 390 Mimosa Ave, on Monday, August 2nd, at 6pm.  (This is where we met for Easter Sunday this year.)  Our hosts are covering the costs on this one, so it’s an all you can eat BBQ for free!….come on men, how you gonna resist that kind of an offer?!!

This Sunday Morning – The Gospel of Grace

This Sunday morning I’m planning to open up the letter to the Galatians once more as we rejoice in the Gospel of Grace. This week we’ll continue in chapter 4 at verse 12.  Why don’t you open up your Bible (or your bible app on your device) and read the words of this epistle once more as you prepare your hearts for worship and the Word?  Also, don’t forget you can listen to recent Sunday morning Sermons on gracetalks.org.

We’re meeting in person on Sundays, but we’re also continuing to provide an online service via Zoom and facebook live.  The info you need for the online meeting is:
