Sunday Morning – The Gospel of Grace
It’s been great walking through the book of Galatians these last few weeks. I hope you’re growing like I’m growing by these studies. When I feel the Lord directing me to focus teaching in a certain area it’s been my experience that we’re probably going to need the foundation that area of focus is laying, so I’m in no hurry (in case you’re wondering!). Last week we read through chapter 2 and highlighted the part of the story about Titus in Jerusalem and Peter in Antioch – both were examples of the way the false gospel of “Jesus + something” or the religion of human effort usually hurts relationships. I summarized that point with this idea: ): The Gospel of Grace heals relationships and creates unity, but the false Gospel of Jesus + something injures relationships and creates division.
This week I’m planning on taking a deeper dive into one of my favorite verses – Galatians 2:20 – and the depth of meaning for our lives that it can give us. Here’s that section for your reflection:
19 For through the law I died to the law so that I might live for God. 20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Communion This Sunday
We’re planning on having communion (the Lord’s Supper) this Sunday morning, so if you are joining us online, please come prepared with some kind of bread/cracker and juice for the communion elements.
Men’s Breakfast This Saturday
For the men – if you didn’t know, we have an amazing bunch of men at Grace Vineyard. We get together for breakfast on the 2nd Saturday of the month at Ty’s Burgerhouse at 515 Mission Ave, and we’d really love all you men to join us! There’s a lot of strength that comes from each other, strength that you are going to need some day (maybe today, for that matter). Join us on Saturday morning at 8am. Eric Hall is going to be sharing his story with us, and I know you’re going to be inspired. See you there.

Time to Register for the Marriage Getaway
I just wanted to remind you about the Marriage Getaway in September. This weekend has been the highlight of the year for many of our couples over the past decade or so. Beautiful accommodations, amazing speakers, so much inspiration and fun. The Early Bird Registration Ends July 30, so I encourage you to register right away if you’re thinking of joining us. You can find all the details by clicking here.
Steve and Lisa Rogers in Honduras
Don’t forget that Steve and Lisa Rogers have joined our Vineyard Honduras missions partnership for a missions/ministry trip. They left on Wednesday to meet up with the team and fly to Honduras. They’ll be back with us on June 21st, so please keep them in your prayers!
Flooring Project Has Begun
The flooring contractor that is doing the new epoxy floor for the lobby and terrace had an opening and offered us some perks if we jumped on the job, so we did. You’ll see on Sunday that the job is underway. They’ll begin pouring the new floor on Tuesday, but this weekend you’ll be on cement and wood, so watch your step! This job is scheduled to be finished before Sunday the 20th. I think it’s going to be beautiful. Really beautiful! And we’ll never have to worry about staining the carpet in those areas with spilled food and drink, and the floor will outlive all of us. I’m excited for you to see it as we beautify this house of Worship God has entrusted to our care. Thank you all who have given offerings so far. We’ve got a ways to go to finish the flooring – we still want to the get new carpet for the aisles and around the stage, and we still have plans to redo the outside entrance, so if you haven’t had an opportunity to give yet we could use your participation. Remember – this is OUR church building now, so we are investing in our future. To donate to the building fund online click here: building-fund-donation.
That’s all for tonight.
I’ll see you all Sunday morning for another great time in the Lord’s Presence! (And if you’re on zoom, try to get there early so I can say hi to you — I try to hop on around 9:20 on Sundays).
Much love and blessings to each of you,
Tithes and Offerings Online
Thank you for your generosity and faithfulness! We could not do what we do without you. We believe God has chosen to meet the material needs of His church through the tithes and offerings of His people. (Tithe means literally 1/10 or 10% of our income). We encourage everybody to be committed to a church family, and if Grace Vineyard is where you are committed, we’ve provided this online tool for you; click on the “donate” button below to get started. (Note: if you’re giving an offering for the building fund or the benevolence fund in addition to your tithe, please mention that in the notes section after you land on our paypal page). THANKS for taking ownership in the life and ministry of Grace Vineyard – it takes all of us!
