Happy Friday Grace Vineyard Family and Friends!

It’s the 1st week of June (can you believe it?!).  This week always stirs my memory cuz almost 40 years ago, in 1982, I graduated from High School in Phoenix, Arizona, and moved to Oceanside the very next day.  I had no idea what the future would look like as I moved to this beautiful place and prepared for my first year in college, but it sure has been an amazing journey.   On Sunday we want to celebrate with those who are graduating right now and preparing for their new adventures.  We’re keeping it simple, but we hope you’ll be able to join us to pray a prayer of blessing over our graduates and enjoy a slice of cake after the service.

Galatians – The Gospel of Grace

Sunday morning we’re going to continue our series on the Gospel of Grace in Galatians, and I’m excited to have another one of you share your story of how you became a follower of Jesus.  I’ll keep it a surprise who’s sharing this time, but I can tell you, you don’t wanna miss this one!  I recommend you re-read the 1st 2 chapters of Galatians again as we prepare our hearts to open God’s word together.  It’s been great seeing many of you in person, and it’s also been great greeting those of you who are joining us online.  (I try to join you around 9:20 on Zoom before I go into the in-person service just after 9:30, so if you’re going to Zoom this week, try to get there a little early so I can say hi and see you cuz I miss you!) Here’s the zoom info for those joining us online:

New Flooring Starts this Week

Great news on the flooring project.  The pieces all fell together this week for our flooring contractor to begin doing the lobby and terrace on Wednesday morning.  It’s going to be an entirely new and cool look all the way from our front doors on to the terrace – it’s a hard surface  (not carpet) that should last at least another 20 years!  I don’t think I can describe it sufficiently in words – you’ll see it coming together over the next 2 weeks – but it’s kind of marble looking surface not unlike polished concrete, but not exactly the same.  In any case, we won’t have to worry about coffee and food stains anymore, and it is very durable.  This is only the first phase, but it’s going to make a big difference in sprucing up our building.  Next we’ll want to replace the carpet in the sanctuary area, and we’ll want to get some nice area rugs for the conversation areas in the lobby, so if you’ve been thinking about donating to the building fund, we’re still raising funds to beautify our house of worship.  We need to move all the furniture out of the lobby, the tables and chairs from in front of the cry room, and fridge and cabinets out of the kitchen area, so Steve Rogers is recruiting some people to help with that on Sunday afternoon.  If you can join us, please contact Steve at 760-500-4324 or srogers@gracevcf.org.

Here’s some upcoming events you’ll want to know about…

Preparing With Prayer for Sunday Nights at Grace

We are planning on launching a Sunday Night service in mid-July.  It will be at the church and it will have its own unique feel — we’ll have live worship, we’ll use the video from that Sunday morning teaching for our time in the Word, and depending on the number of people who come, we’ll be able to have interactive discussion as well.  Of course we’ll have ministry time with prayer and space for the Holy Spirit to come and have his way  with his wonderful Presence.  We’re working on details like childcare too.  In preparation, we’re going to start praying together on Sunday nights from 6-7pm, beginning Sunday, June 6th at the church.  We’d love for all of you to join us!  If you have any questions, contact Steve Rogers, 760-500-4324 or srogers@gracevcf.org.

New Friday Night Home Group Begins Tonight

I’m always excited when we launch a new home group or Bible study.  One of the treasures of our congregation is Anita Bradnum, and she is opening up her home and giving her leadership to a new Home Group on Friday nights at 7pm, beginning tonight (June 4).  This group will give some emphasis to studying the Jewish roots of the Christian faith, which is such a rich area to find life.  Please contact Anita for more info at 760-936-3669.  If you’re not part of a small group at Grace Vineyard yet, I’d really encourage you to check this one out!

Ron Ohst

Tithes and Offerings Online

Thank you for your generosity and faithfulness! We could not do what we do without you. We believe God has chosen to meet the material needs of His church through the tithes and offerings of His people. (Tithe means literally 1/10 or 10% of our income). We encourage everybody to be committed to a church family, and if Grace Vineyard is where you are committed, we’ve provided this online tool for you; click on the “donate” button below to get started. (Note: if you’re giving an offering for the building fund or the benevolence fund in addition to your tithe, please mention that in the notes section after you land on our paypal page). THANKS for taking ownership in the life and ministry of Grace Vineyard – it takes all of us!
