Hello all you Grace Vineyard family and friends!

I hope you are having another tremendous week!  It was so good seeing all of you last Sunday.  A huge thank you to all who supported our Jr Hi and High School students at their bake sale fund raiser.  *Really* good baked items could be found in abundance, and it seems like many of you must have given them way more than their asking price for the goodies you bought, cuz they made almost $1000 for the youth group!!  I’m eating my last piece of Nancy’s fudge as I type.  It was super fun to see all those kids working together.  Looking forward to seeing you all again Sunday morning.

Here’s some news you’ll want to know about…

Activate Love – We’ve Still Got Some Room For You

Activate Love Workshop is THIS SATURDAY!  If you haven’t registered, we’re not gonna turn you away!  So you can still join us Saturday at 9am. A Huge value of Grace Vineyard is “everyone gets to play”, meaning that we don’t have a few “professional” ministers who get do the fun stuff of ministry; instead we want every one of us to be equipped, trained, and empowered to do the ministry of Jesus.  Go  to https://www.gracevcf.org/activate-love for details.  We become a much stronger church as more and more of us are able to minister the Kingdom of God in the power of the Spirit.

Galatians – The Gospel of Grace

We’re going to continue our series on the Gospel of Grace in Galatians from where we left off last week.  If you missed it, or if you’d just like a refresher, you can listen to last week’s message right here at gracetalks.org:

I’d encourage you to read Galatians once again before Sunday (or at least read chapter 1, which is really short).

Preparing With Prayer for Sunday Nights at Grace

We are planning on launching a Sunday Night service in mid-July.  It will be at the church and it will have its own unique feel — we’ll have live worship, we’ll use the video from that Sunday morning teaching for our time in the Word, and depending on the number of people who come, we’ll be able to have interactive discussion as well.  Of course we’ll have ministry time with prayer and space for the Holy Spirit to come and have his way  with his wonderful Presence.  We’re working on details like childcare too.  In preparation, we’re going to start praying together on Sunday nights from 6-7pm, beginning Sunday, May 30th at the church.  We’d love for all of you to join us!  If you have any questions, contact Steve Rogers, 760-500-4324 or srogers@gracevcf.org.

New Friday Night Home Group Begins June 4

I’m always excited when we launch a new home group or Bible study.  One of the treasures of our congregation is Anita Bradnum, and she is opening up her home and giving her leadership to a new Home Group on Friday nights at 7pm, beginning June 4.  This group will give some emphasis to studying the Jewish roots of the Christian faith, which is such a rich area to find life.  Please contact Anita for more info at 760-936-3669.  If you’re not part of a small group at Grace Vineyard yet, I’d really encourage you to check this one out!

Celebrating our Graduates

We have a number of people graduating this season, and we want to celebrate you!  But we might not know who all of you are, so could you do us the huge favor of letting us know if you or someone you know in the church is graduating?  You could just text “I’m graduating” to 760-237-4393, or send an email to info@gracevcf.org.  We’re planning on having a cake after church on Sunday June 6, and praying a prayer of blessing over you as a congregation, so we want to make sure we don’t miss any of you.

A Missionary Visit this Sunday

You know how we pray for a nation or one of our missionary partners every Sunday?  Well this week we have a special treat.  I’ve invited one of them to give us an in-person update this Sunday.  Much of their work is in a closed region where it is very dangerous to be a Christian, so for security reasons I won’t mention their names or where they serve in this email.  They’ll also be very vague about certain details on Sunday for security reasons (since we’re live on Facebook), but they think they can tell us some stories in a way that won’t compromise anyone’s safety.  I don’t think you’ll want to miss it!

Serving Our Neighbors Next Friday

Next Friday (June 4)  it’s time to serve our neighbors at Bread of Life Rescue Mission.  We are now able to serve people a meal inside the building.  We could use some money for purchasing the food that our volunteer chef will be cooking, and we could use some hands to serve.  If you’d like to jump in and show God’s love in a practical way to some people who could really use a hand up and some encouragement to keep on keeping on, contact Venita at 760-573-4429, and she’ll tell you all the details.

That’s all for this week’s update.  See you Sunday morning for another great time together in the Presence of the Lord!

Blessings and love,

Ron Ohst

Tithes and Offerings Online

Thank you for your generosity and faithfulness! We could not do what we do without you. We believe God has chosen to meet the material needs of His church through the tithes and offerings of His people. (Tithe means literally 1/10 or 10% of our income). We encourage everybody to be committed to a church family, and if Grace Vineyard is where you are committed, we’ve provided this online tool for you; click on the “donate” button below to get started. (Note: if you’re giving an offering for the building fund or the benevolence fund in addition to your tithe, please mention that in the notes section after you land on our paypal page). THANKS for taking ownership in the life and ministry of Grace Vineyard – it takes all of us!
