Dear Grace Vineyard and Friends of Grace,

Happy Cinco de Mayo!  And happy first weekend in May. I’m writing to you on Friday night, but you probably won’t see this until Saturday morning.  I just had a great evening at Jesus Party.  I went cuz in addition to wanting to have some wonderful fellowship with fellow Jesus lovers on the beach, I knew I that I am planning on talking with you on the topic of “Prophecy – Hearing and Sharing Encouraging Words from the Holy Spirit”, and I was pretty sure I would have a fresh opportunity to experience what we’ll be talking about if I went to Jesus Party.  I was not disappointed.  I’ll talk more about this on Sunday morning with you, but one bullet point to know is that if you want to hear God’s voice and you would like to experience a prophetic gift through you, find an opportunity to pray for somebody, and there’s a really good chance you’ll hear something prophetic from the Holy Spirit for the person you’re praying for. There are so many opportunities right now to jump into the river of the Holy Spirit’s life in our region  but let me just encourage you to take advantage of one particular, wonderful opportunity on Friday nights –  Jesus Party is every Friday night at 6:22 near life guard tower #2 on the beach in Oceanside, led by our great friends Dustin and Nina Nelson. On any given Friday night you might experience leading someone to Jesus, praying for people, seeing people get baptized, and so much more.  And don’t forget to pray for Jesus Party cuz we are hoping to see them multiplied up and down the coast this year.  Tonight we prayed for one brother who is hoping to launch a Jesus Party on the beach on Camp Pendleton soon!

Empowered Episode 4

By now you probably all know that we are in a teaching series leading up to Pentecost Sunday on May 28th.  We are talking about topics related to the person and work of the Holy Spirit.  Last week we talked about the Ministry of Healing, and I was so thrilled to watch as many of you practiced healing prayer at the end of our service last Sunday.  Perhaps we’ll hear some stories from some of you about what you experienced when we reunite this coming Sunday morning.  This week we’re going to look at another wonderful way we are empowered by the Holy Spirit – Prophecy, and how we can hear and share encouraging words from the Holy Spirit.   I do hope you’ll all join us for some more equipping for life and ministry.  What a joy to partner with the Holy Spirit as He brings life to people all around us.  We are in a wonderful season of the Holy Spirit working in hungry hearts in our cities right now and I’m praying that none of us are left out of the adventure of partnering with the Lord.  If you’d like to listen again to last Sunday’s teaching, you can watch it here:

Jesus Walk, May 27

Mark your calendars for the last Saturday of May – May 27th at 10am – for another Jesus Walk.  We’ll meet at the Oceanside Parking Structure and walk along the coast, sing songs of worship, and facilitate encounters with people (aka “Holy Hello’s”) along the way.  You heard stories from the last Jesus Walk a couple of weeks ago, and the excitement was high as we asked Mark Newell to lead us in another one.  Thank you Mark for putting this together! If you need more info, please reach out to Mark at 760-715-1611.

Our Next Ladies Hike/Walk is May 13

Next Saturday, May 13, is the 2nd Saturday of the month, and that means its time for another Ladies Hike/Walk.  All the ladies are invited for an active time of fellowship with a light hike/walk around the Oceanside Harbor.  Meet at 9am (on May 13th, of course) outside the free parking tunnel right as you enter the harbor area.  If you’re going to join the ladies, please give Kathy Green a text or call at 760-583-1779 to let her know to expect you.

Men’s Breakfast May 13

May 13th is also time for our monthly Men’s breakfast at Ty’s Burgerhouse, just around the corner from the church at 515 Mission Ave.  We have a delicious breakfast including scrambled eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, worship, an inspiring word, and plenty of fellowship and opportunities for praying for each other.  Men, if you haven’t joined us for one of our breakfasts yet, please join us next Saturday.  We are better together!

As I bring this week’s update to a finish, let me just remind you of something I told you about in a recent update – we are needing to grow our building fund for some much needed improvements to our building.  The carpet on the aisles and around the stage is really old and really thrashed. We are getting bids to redo the lettering on our giant GRACE sign, we have a big hole in ceiling in the lobby, and several more projects are in the works.  Please pray about giving a building fund offering in addition to your tithe – if you use the electronic giving button at the end of this email, just mention “building fund” in the “what’s this donation for?” section of the electronic giving process.  Thank you in advance for your generosity!

I hope you all have a beautiful Saturday, and come prepared Sunday morning to worship, fellowship, get equipped, and step more fully into your calling in Jesus’ arm of healers.

With love and blessings,

Ron Ohst
