Happy Friday, Grace Vineyard and Friends.

I hope you have had another great week in our beautiful San Diego!  The weather became really lovely today.  It is almost the beginning of Spring, and it felt like it today.  As Spring approaches we also have the beginning of Day Light Savings Time:

Daylight Savings Time begins Sunday morning at 2am, so that means we’ll all need to set our clocks forward one hour before we go to bed on Saturday night.  And that means we’ll lose 1 hour of sleep if we don’t go to bed an hour earlier than usual, cuz morning will definitely come an hour earlier on Sunday!  Consider going to bed a little earlier than usual to get a head start on changing your biological clock. I thought you could all use the reminder (even though we probably all use smart phones for our clocks, and they always change the time automatically).

Ladies Walk Saturday Morning

Tomorrow is the 2nd Saturday of the month.  That means it’s time for our monthly Ladies Walk, and this month the ladies will be walking at Batiquitos Lagoon.  Meet at the Batiquitos Lagoon Nature Center, 7380 Gabbiano Lane, Carlsbad, at 9am.  This is a beautiful walk, and such a great way to enjoy fellowship with some of the other amazing Women of Grace.  If you plan on going, we’d love it if you could call or text Kathy Green at 760-583-1779 so she can be expecting you.

Men’s Breakfast with Christian Twombly

The 2nd Saturday means it’s also time for our monthly Men’s Breakfast at Ty’s Burgerhouse.  We meet at the restaurant at 8am. The address is 515 Mission Ave (just around the corner from the church), and we have a great time. If you are a man and you have never joined us, please make this your first time.  We have such a great group of guys in at Grace Vineyard, and I don’t want anyone to miss out.  Our own Christian Twombly will be speaking this month, so you definitely don’t want to miss our time together.

After Church Prayer Meeting

It seems like a lot of great stuff happens on the 2nd weekend of the month around here.  This Sunday, right after church, we will be having our after church prayer meeting.  If you’re a person who thinks you wouldn’t ‘know what to do at a prayer meeting, you’re not alone, and we’ve got you covered.  Sharon Evans facilitates this prayer meeting, and she creates a great and easy way to engage in prayer.  She’ll set up several stations (round tables) around the terrace, each with a description of a prayer focus.  People spend about 5 minutes at each station, praying for the topics that are described, and every 5 minutes a musical bell sounds to let us know to move to the next station.  The time goes by really quickly.  And I can’t emphasize enough the simplicity and power of prayer. God really listens, and the things we ask Him for so often are done by His gracious, powerful hand.  Please join us this Sunday!

Face To Face, March 22nd

Our Women’s Ministry has a monthly (well, almost monthly) home group that meets for fellowship, worship, inspiration from the Word, and prayer ministry.  For the month of March, the women will be meeting on the 22nd at 6:30PM at Michelle Ertel’s Home, 1480 Pioneer Circle, in  Oceanside, Gate Code: #2468.  This month, I happen to know a little bit about the speaker, and let me just say, she’s awesome.  Yup, it’s Kim Ohst. Bring a snack to share.  Carpooling is encouraged, as parking is limited.  Please call Kim Ohst for more information 760.519.4558.

The Armor of God

For the last few weeks on Sunday mornings, I’ve been preaching on the theme “Fighting the Good Fight of the Faith”, and last week we began to talk about “The Armor of God” from Ephesians 6.  If you missed last Sunday’s sermon, or would just like to hear it again, you can listen/watch right here on our YouTube channel:

This coming Sunday I plan on talking more about the Armor of God, describing the various pieces mentioned in Ephesians:

  • The belt of TRUTH
  • The breastplate of RIGHTEOUSNESS

These 6 are effective and powerful for withstanding all of the attacks of the evil one that we experience as we fight the good fight of the faith.

I look forward to worshiping and growing with you on Sunday morning at 9:30 am.  If you are not able to be with us in person for some reason, you can always join online via the Zoom app with this info:  Zoom Meeting ID  153 112 432, Passcode 684814. You may also join us on Facebook Live at

Have a great rest of your weekend.  Don’t forget to set your clocks forward on Saturday, and I’ll see you Sunday morning.

With love and blessings to each of you,

Ron Ohst
