Grace Vineyard Update 12-18-2020

Hi Grace Vineyard and Friends,

I know it’s still a week away, but is it too early for me to greet you with “MERRY CHRISTMAS!”?  Early today I sent out a video message.  If you missed it, you can see it here (it’s pretty short, so hopefully you have time):

There’s just a few things I wanted to make sure you know about:

First, we’ll be meeting online only this coming Sunday at 9:30am, and we’ll be completing our mini-series “Receive Your King: Preparing Our Hearts for Christmas” where we’ve been reading stories from the Bible about the birth of Jesus and finding applications for our lives.  I hope you’ve been built up by the messages as much as I have been built up as I’ve prepared for them.  No matter how many times I’ve read these Bible stories, they seem to always have something new for me.   Here’s the info you need to join us on line:

For the Facebook live stream, go to our Facebook page at  Last Sunday, Facebook notified us that it was having trouble showing our video stream…don’t know if they’ve fixed whatever the issue was, but if they haven’t, please join us on Zoom (which is better anyway, cuz it gives us the opportunity to react with each other!)

Christmas Gifts for Those Needing a Helping Hand

We all know people who have been hit hard financially by the covid19 pandemic, and there are certainly people in our congregation that we would like to give a special gift to at Christmas time.  If you’d like help, you can give online to the Christmas Benevolence Fund by clicking on this button:

100% of every donation made with this button will go to families who could use a helping hand this Christmas.

Christmas Eve Candlelight Service

We are very happy to announce that we will be able to have a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service this year.  Join us on December 24, 5-6PM outside at the beautiful River Gardens in Vista, 390 Mimosa Ave.  The venue has outdoor heating! We are joining together with The River Church and Jesus Culture San Diego. To help prepare, we’re asking that you register by clicking here. Our own Ammee Huzil will be leading the Christmas Worship, we’ll have communion and the traditional candle lighting while we sing Silent Night.  And yes, we will be following all the covid19 guidelines – cookies are individually wrapped, communion elements are also individually sealed. Be prepared to wear a mask and maintain 6 feet distance from those not in your household.

And that’s it for this update!  May the rest of your weekend be filled with joy, hope, love, and peace.

with love and blessings,

Ron Ohst

Tithes and Offerings Online

Thank you for your generosity and faithfulness! We could not do what we do without you. We believe God has chosen to meet the material needs of His church through the tithes and offerings of His people. (Tithe means literally 1/10 or 10% of our income). We encourage everybody to be committed to a church family, and if Grace Vineyard is where you are committed, we’ve provided this online tool for you; click on the “donate” button below to get started. (Note: if you’re giving an offering for the building fund or the benevolence fund in addition to your tithe, please mention that in the notes section after you land on our paypal page). THANKS for taking ownership in the life and ministry of Grace Vineyard – it takes all of us!
