Grace Vineyard Update 10-09-2020
Hi Grace Vineyard and Friends,
Here’s my weekly update email for you. I hope you’ve had another great week. It has definitely been beautiful here in Oceanside! Earlier today I sent out a video message with (hopefully) everything I needed to tell you about for the latest updates from Grace Vineyard. If you missed that and would like to see it, here it is:
Here’s all the latest updates:
Youth Movie Nights
Tonight, and every Friday night at 7pm, the youth are doing movie nights in the theater. It’s a great time of fun and fellowship. If you need any more info on this, or anything else related to our youth ministry, please contact our youth pastor, Lisa Rogers – 760-696-1994, or email@example.com.
Family Service at Buddy Todd Park this Saturday, 4-5:30pm
This Saturday we are having a family service specially designed for kids from age 2 to around 11. We’ll have kid’s worship, a craft, and a Bible Story. It will be fun for the whole family. We’re meeting at Buddy Toddy Park right next to the parking lot. You’ll probably want to bring a lawn chair. Could you let us know if you’ll be joining us? Contact Kim Ohst at 760-519-4558 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
This Sunday in The Parking Lot
This Sunday we’ll be meeting in the parking lot. When we started meeting outside, we really felt like we were being pushed into a unique opportunity to worship and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus in public, but we knew that window would only be open for a short while. We are beginning to make preparations to be back inside our building on the first Sunday of November. So please, in these remaining few Sundays of outdoor worship, invite people who might not be likely to come to church inside the building. And once again, I encourage us to prepare our hearts for worship before we ever arrive. We’ve been encountering His Presence! As always, we will also be online via Zoom and Facebook live. For Zoom, here’s the meeting info:

Men’s Breakfast October 17
Men – next Saturday we’ll be having an in-person men’s breakfast in the back porch area of Ty’s Burger House at 8am. The area will be set up according to Covid regulations for restaurants, with the tables separated by 6 feet. We’ll also set up a camera and broadcast via zoom so you can still join us if you are not able to come in person. The Zoom Meeting ID is 480 203 1063, Password: surrender.
The Third Option Small Group Tuesdays Beginning October 27
As you all know, our nation has been in a lot of turmoil in recent months over racial issues. The horrible and tragic deaths of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and George Floyd brought practically our entire nation into a conversation on racial division and an acute awareness of the pain experienced by our brothers and sisters of color. I’ve continued to learn as I’ve listened to the stories of fellow Americans, and I’ve been looking for ways to be part of a healing solution. In a recent zoom meeting for pastors preparing for the We Pray San Diego event, Miles McPherson told us that he has created a small group curriculum from his “The Third Option” teachings. I had already heard him speak on the topic, and had been listening to the audio book, and I found it very helpful, so I knew immediately that I wanted to do a small group with this material. This will be a 6 week zoom group on Tuesdays at 7pm, beginning October 27. I would encourage you to join me. If you’d like to check out Mile’s unique approach to bringing healing to racial tension in our churches, communities, and country, check out this website, and watch some of the videos: https://milesmcpherson.com/unity/. If you’d like to join me, sign up by sending an email to email@example.com.
Looking forward to seeing some of you on Saturday for our family service in the park, and again on Sunday morning for our outdoor worship gathering!
With love and blessings,
Tithes and Offerings Online
Thank you for your generosity and faithfulness! We could not do what we do without you. We believe God has chosen to meet the material needs of His church through the tithes and offerings of His people. (Tithe means literally 1/10 or 10% of our income). We encourage everybody to be committed to a church family, and if Grace Vineyard is where you are committed, we’ve provided this online tool for you; click on the “donate” button below to get started. (Note: if you’re giving an offering for the building fund or the benevolence fund in addition to your tithe, please mention that in the notes section after you land on our paypal page). THANKS for taking ownership in the life and ministry of Grace Vineyard – it takes all of us!
