Grace Vineyard Update 02-19-2021
Hello Grace Vineyard and Friends.
We have some really good news. After a very long break, we are returning to in-person worship beginning this Sunday, February 21, at 9:30am.
Of course some of us would be wise to continue to avoid crowds, so we also will be broadcasting our service on Zoom as well. Here’s the zoom info:

We’re also planning on streaming the Zoom meeting on Facebook live for those who can’t join our zoom meeting; just go to our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/gracevcf.
And please note, for those who will be joining us in the building, we will be following California Health Department covid-19 protocols, including wearing face coverings and maintaining 6 feet of distance between households.
This week we will not have any children’s ministry available, but we do hope to have something in place as early as next Sunday, February 28th. And that brings up the next topic:
Rebuilding our Service Teams
We need to rebuild all our service teams. It’s a time of new beginnings! We need to build our Children’s Ministry Team, our ushers and greeters, our prayer ministry and more. This is a time for all of us to step into serving each other! The Bible puts it this way: “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” (1 Peter 4:10) So, whether you’d like to explore joining our worship ministry, or our tech team (running sound and video), our usher/greeter/security team, our youth ministry, or any other service area, reach out to us with an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you’re interested in learning more about Children’s ministry, either send that email, or contact Debby Gidley at 760-637-9286.
Face to Face Next Friday
Our women’s home fellowship, Face to Face, is meeting again next Friday, February 26, at 7pm in Shannon Frye’s back yard, 2044 Chestnut Ave, in Carlsbad. Ammee Huzil will be speaking and Haven Madson will be leading worship. We hope to also broadcast our meeting on Zoom (more info to come on the the Zoom details). Please contact Kim Ohst for more information at 760-519-4558, or email@example.com.
Building Refurbishing Update
If you saw my email last week, and then came to church on Sunday, you know that we are raising $20,000 for the next phase in refurbishing our building. This phase is to replace our flooring, both inside and outside the building. As of my email on Friday, February 12th we were a little over $1,000 short of reaching our first $5,000. But one of us read that email and immediately sent in the difference to bring us up to that first $5,000, which means we’re going to pull the trigger on doing the inside flooring. Steve Rogers is working with the flooring contractor to work out the details, so we can get started ASAP — we’ll build a team of volunteers to tear out the old carpet (to reduce the labor cost) on a Sunday afternoon and then the contractor will get to work that Monday installing the new flooring, so it can be finished before the following weekend. We still have almost $15,000 to raise, so please think and pray about your part in this project (the first $5,000 came in from only 10 givers, so I’m confident we can complete this project as more of us step in). To make your donation to the building fund, either send a check with “Building Fund” in the memo line to 102 N. Freeman St., Oceanside, CA, or give online by clicking here: building-fund donation. On the subject of giving and stewardship, a good percentage of us are experiencing the joy, peace, and abundant provision that accompanies a regular lifestyle of tithing (giving 10% of our income to the Lord). I’ve heard too many stories to count over the years of this amazing “math” that seems to happen — you give money away, and somehow you end up with more than you had before you started tithing. That’s just our generous God, encouraging us to become generous like Him, and then out-giving us when we start giving. Amazing! I do hope even more of us we’ll step out in faith in the area of tithing. Literally everyone I know who tithes would testify to an experience of joy, peace, and provision; God gives back so much more than we ever give away. (as always in my emails, there will be a donate button below where I sign off for those who’d like to give online. That’s how my family does it.)
And that’s it for this week’s update. See you all Sunday, either in person or online; either way, we’ll be together worshiping Jesus, and it just doesn’t get any better than that!
with blessings and love to you each,
Tithes and Offerings Online
Click on the “donate” button below if you’d like to give online. Note: if you’re giving an offering for the building fund or the benevolence fund in addition to your tithe, please mention that in the notes section after you land on our paypal page. THANKS for taking ownership in the life and ministry of Grace Vineyard – it takes all of us!
