Grace Vineyard Update 01-15-2021
Hello Grace Vineyard and Friends,
It’s another beautiful week in Oceanside. I hope you’ve been able to experience a bit of the “Good Life” that we started talking about last Sunday – a life characterized by Love, Joy, Peace, Hope, and Faith, regardless of the circumstances. I’m planning on diving back in to this discussion this coming Sunday.
We’ll refresh our understanding of those “Magnificent Five”:
Love – immersed in the safety of loving and being loved by God and a community of people who are for me, and are intentional about promoting my good.
Joy – a pervasive sense of well-being (which is a delightful way to live!)
Peace – the prosperity of a soul at rest, without the need for striving
Hope – the anticipation of good that is still unseen
Faith- confidence grounded in reality that enables us to “see” the unseen good that we hope for
It’s still a bit too cold for an outdoor service in the morning, so we’ll be meeting online via zoom at 9:30AM again. Here’s the info for the zoom meeting:

We’re also planning on streaming the Zoom meeting on Facebook live for those who can’t join our zoom meeting; just go to our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/gracevcf
This week Ammee and Jay Huzil will be leading us in worship from their home. For your convenience, you can get your own copy of the lyrics for the worship songs we plan to sing by clicking here. (You might want to print those out before Sunday arrives).
I would like to share Communion with you on Sunday, so please come prepared with grape juice (or the closest thing you can find) and bread (I use unleavened Matzah, but you can use any kind of bread or cracker you have available if you can’t find Matzah).
Worship in the Park
There is something so special and life-giving about worshiping the Lord together, so since it’s still too cold to meet together outside for our Sunday morning meeting, we thought we’d plan a worship gathering in the park later in the day when the sun has warmed things up. We’ll meet at 2pm at Buddy Todd park on January 31st for worship. It won’t be like a regular church service, but will just be a simple, unplugged, time of worship and enjoying the Lord’s Presence. If you play the guitar or some other portable instrument and would like to bring it, please do. You’ll need to bring your own chairs or blankets, drinks, etc.
Honduras Missions Trip Interest Meeting This Sunday
Last week we told you the exciting news that the Honduras Missions partnership is planning a Missions trip June 11-19, and Grace Vineyard is invited to send up to 8 of our congregation on the trip. We have to be flexible with the possibility that the pandemic will still be limiting travel, but we also have to plan ahead with the hope that we will be able to go.
Dates: June 11-June 19, 2021
Purpose: Train and strengthen churches and church leadership, serve communities and share the Gospel of Christ.
Cost: Approximate cost is $1,800 (depending on flight prices) (Does not include shots and vaccines)
Includes: Airfare, ground transportation, housing, meals, insurance – basically everything!
Transportation: Plane, van, on foot!
Weather: Be prepared!! Warm, Cool (never really cold), Rainy, humid (Honduras is 15-16 degrees north of the equator!)
We have a MUST-ATTEND information meeting on zoom this Sunday at 12 noon. Here’s the zoom meeting info (note: this is a separate zoom meeting from our church service meeting)– Meeting ID: 819 1330 5762, Passcode: 001565
We are excited that this opportunity is available to us so soon after joining the Honduras missions partnership, but time is of the essence, as we’ll need to send our first payments for the trip in the first part of March. So if you have interest, please join us at this zoom meeting Sunday, where we’ll give you all the details.
And that’s it for this week’s update. See you all Sunday morning!
Blessings and love,
Tithes and Offerings Online
Thank you for your generosity and faithfulness! We could not do what we do without you. We believe God has chosen to meet the material needs of His church through the tithes and offerings of His people. (Tithe means literally 1/10 or 10% of our income). We encourage everybody to be committed to a church family, and if Grace Vineyard is where you are committed, we’ve provided this online tool for you; click on the “donate” button below to get started. (Note: if you’re giving an offering for the building fund or the benevolence fund in addition to your tithe, please mention that in the notes section after you land on our paypal page). THANKS for taking ownership in the life and ministry of Grace Vineyard – it takes all of us!
