Hello Grace Vineyard and Friends of Grace Vineyard!
It’s time for another Grace Vineyard Update.
I had another busy week with my family. Last Saturday we had my dad’s memorial, and it was really beautiful. For people that know us personally and would be interested, I hope to post some video clips on my Facebook page soon. On Sunday we spread his ashes in the ocean (that’s why you didn’t see me last Sunday), and on Monday I drove with mom and her daughter to Pueblo, Colorado (that’s a 17 hour drive!) where mom will be living with her daughter. She’s very excited to get back home – she grew up in a house literally around the block from where she’ll be living now. I flew back on Thursday just in time to get to the Breath of Heaven fundraiser banquet, which was so inspirational and moving (though I’m not sure I like people making me cry that much in one evening!). It was a great week of family time, but also a bit exhausting! I have had a couple decent nights of rest, so I think I’m ready for a great weekend with you all. It starts tonight…
Night of Worship with CJ Orndorff Tonight at 6:30
Join us tonight for a beautiful time of worship and ministry with CJ Orndorff. You’ve heard me talking about him the last several weeks, so I’ll not repeat myself. I looked for a video of him singing (for those of you who may not know him), and found this one of him singing at the Oceanside Pier at one of our outreaches. This will give you a taste…
Tonight we’ll have a whole band, mostly from Grace Vineyard, including the amazing April Trevisan on vocals. I wish I had found a video of her singing to share with you, but trust me — she’s amazing too. Hope to see you tonight at 6:30.
Women’s Retreat Is Happening Right Now!
I know one group of people who won’t be able to join us tonight at the night of worship with CJ — all the women at the Daughters of Destiny Retreat. Sometimes we just have calendar collisions, and this one was one of those times. Sorry Ladies! But I have heard you are all having an awesome time with the Lord. All of us – let’s keep our women in prayer this weekend for life-changing encounters with the Holy Spirit, refreshing times of fellowship, inspirational times in the Word, and a safe trip home. Also, I have some good news for anyone who can’t make it to the night of worship: We will be broadcasting it on Facebook Live, so you’ll be able to watch it when you get home!
The Cost of Joy
As I said, I get to be with you this Sunday, and I’ll be bringing a message I’m calling “The Cost of Joy”. Jesus once said, “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.” Joy. We all want it. But what does it cost to get it? Let’s talk about it this Sunday at Grace Vineyard. See you at 9:30. If for some reason you can’t join us in person, you can join us online via zoom with this info: Zoom Meeting ID 153 112 432, Passcode 684814. You may also join us on Facebook Live at facebook.com/gracevcf.
Operation Christmas Child
It’s time to stuff shoe boxes with gifts for the children around the world. From children to seniors, people pack shoebox gifts each year to bless children in need around the world. Parents often use the project to teach their kids about giving. Year-round volunteers support these efforts across the country. Check out the Operation Christmas Child table in the lobby for more info. Also, you can go directly to https://www.samaritanspurse.org/what-we-do/operation-christmas-child/ to learn all about this amazing ministry. It’s a joy to be part of such a life changing ministry.
And that’s all I have for you this week. See you Tonight and see you again Tomorrow Morning! It’s going to be a great weekend of Worship, which is about as joyful as it gets for me!
With blessings and love,
Ron Ohst
