Hello Grace Vineyard and Friends of Grace Vineyard,

I live a very full and rich life.  I am thankful for that, but sometimes that means I don’t get all the things that I want to do done in the time that I want to do them, and that’s what happened this week, so my usual weekly update email is very late.  So here we are on a Saturday evening and I finally have a moment to send you my weekly greetings.  I’ll probably keep this one a little shorter than usual to make sure I send it off while it’s still light out!

Mission To Zambia Starts This Friday

One of the places where my life is full and rich is our Mission to Zambia.  Last night our team packed 8 large suitcases full of gifts that you helped us obtain to give to our friends in Zambia – 100 backpacks, P.A. equipment, games, and more.  We are down to the final stretch and will be leaving L.A.X this coming Friday.  We ask that you continue to support us in prayer.  We’re going to be staying at Breath of Heaven Children’s Village, pictured here, to serve and love the children and staff.  We’re also going to minister to and with a new Vineyard Church plant in Lusaka (the capital city, not far from Breath of Heaven) called Bridgepoint Vineyard.  We’ll be meeting with some of their leaders on Saturday evening, ministering in their Sunday morning church service, and doing an evangelistic outreach with them at an outdoor venue near their church – we’re planning on live music (I get to play keyboard!), preaching the gospel, giving out food and clothing, and offering healing prayer for all who need healing.  Please keep all of this in prayer!  Pray that the we are able to bring the blessing of the Kingdom to the children and staff at Breath of Heaven, encouragement to the people of Bridgepoint Vineyard, and that the people of Lusaka that come to outreach we’ll experience salvation and healing.  Also please pray for our travels, that they will be without incident, and I’d personally appreciate your prayer for my stamina, as this will be my first international trip since I had those 3 strokes in 2018 (I was scheduled to got to Zambia then, but had to miss that trip while I was recovering from the strokes), and I could really use the Lord’s added strength to carry me through.

Tomorrow for our weekly “Missions Moment” we will be laying hands on the team and praying for us, so I hope as many of you as possible will be there.

Tomorrow will be my last Sunday to see you and speak to you for the next few weeks.  I want to leave you with an exhortation to keep on keeping on in this “all in” posture you have grabbed a hold of in recent months.  I have 2 scriptures in mind that I want to read with you:

1 Corinthians 15:58  — Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

Galatians 6:9 — Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Those words, “always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord,”  really stood out to me.  Let’s see what the Lord might say to us tomorrow.  I’m calling the message, “Keep Sowing, The Harvest Is Coming”.

And by the way, I have invited some really great speakers to preach and teach the next 3 Sundays after tomorrow.  Please don’t miss a single Sunday.  I have to admit, I’m quite proud of you all, cuz very consistently every guest preacher we have tells me how much they love our congregation.  There’s just something very special about you all, the way you worship whole-heartedly, the way you connect with each other on Sundays, and the way you respond to sermons and ministry times.  I’m looking forward to talking with our guest speakers when I get back to hear how well you received them as guests in our Grace Vineyard home.  I’ll tell you a little more about who I have invited when I see you tomorrow morning.

Speaking of great speakers, last our own pastor Steve Rogers brought a message called “The Power of the Gospel”.  If you missed it or just wanted to be able to share it with someone you know would be blessed by hearing it, you can watch it again right here:

Fellowship Lunch Tomorrow After Church

Don’t forget we’re having our monthly fellowship lunch (aka potluck) after church tomorrow.  If you didn’t already sign up to bring something in particular, then I guess you should just bring whatever you like!  The main point is to join us for some sweet fellowship over a shared meal tomorrow.  It’s been such a great way to spend time together.

And that’s it for this week’s update email.  Richest blessings to you tonight. I’ll see you tomorrow morning.

If you can’t join us in person, please join us on line via zoom at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/153112432?pwd=WlJjbWZNeHo0NXBKM0VvbDkrYXV2QT09, Meeting ID: 153 112 432, Password: 684814

Blessing and love to you each,

Ron Ohst
