Hello Grace Vineyard and Friends of Grace Vineyard!

It’s been another great week for me; I hope it has been for you too.  I’ve really enjoyed my connections with our Grace Vineyard family…everything from honoring our Moms last Sunday morning with you, to our morning zoom prayer meetings, to connecting one-on-one with folks, to our Thursday night small group…I’m so blessed by every opportunity we have to connect while worshipping Jesus and praying and growing together.  What a rich life we are living.

It’s time for another weekly update. Here’s the opportunities we have coming up for life together:

Ladies Walk Saturday, May 14

The Ladies will meet at the main entrance sign on Guajome Lake Road (off Hwy 76) at 9 am. When you turn into the park, the parking entrance is the first right but doesn’t open until 9:30am. Free parking is past the entrance on the left side and on Old Ranch Road. Please let Kim Ohst know if you plan to attend 760.519.4558.

Men’s Breakfast Saturday, May 14

Guys, the biscuits and gravy are enough to get you out of bed on a Saturday morning, but when you add the great fellowship with the other Men of Grace, worship, and inspiration from Steve Rogers…enough said.  I’ll see you at 8am at Ty’s Burger House for our May Men’s Breakfast.

Prayer Empowered Living

Last week on Mother’s Day we began talking about prayer with a sermon called “What We Can All Learn from the Power of a Praying Mom”.  If you’d like to listen to it, it’s available on our podcast right here:

or you can watch it right here:

I’ll be continuing equipping us for prayer this Sunday morning with a sermon titled “Prayer Empowered Living”.  It seems as though the Holy Spirit is really stirring us up in prayer currently, and we do well to pay attention!

Prayer and Fasting after Church This Sunday

Right after church on Sunday we’ll have our 3rd session of Prayer and Fasting for 1 hour.  We are praying for the Lord to empower us  as we renew our commitment to His Mission for Grace Vineyard.  We’ve already seen answers to prayer from our 1st 2 weeks, and we are excitedly anticipating more from His gracious hand.  In the Bible and church history we often see the effectiveness of prayer multiplied when it is combined with fasting, so we are inviting people to fast their lunch for these Prayer and Fasting meetings.  I hope you can join us again!

Oceanside House of Prayer this coming Monday

We are hosting the Oceanside House of Prayer on the 1st & 3rd Mondays of every month from 6-8pm, and also every Thursday at noon.  The Oceanside House of Prayer practices a prayer ministry style that incorporates a seamless flow between free flowing, spontaneous worship and prayer.  This Monday, our own Ammee Huzil will be helping facilitate the worship side.  We hope you can join us at 6pm this coming Monday.

Zambia Fundraiser Dinner & Raffle Monday, June 6

We have a team from Grace Vineyard going to serve at Breath of Heaven Children’s Village in late July this summer, and we are raising funds for blessing the orphans there.   On Monday, June 6, at 6pm, there will be a fundraising dinner and raffle at Ty’s Burger House.  The tickets are $15, and we will be selling them in the lobby this Sunday.   You’ll get a great hamburger and fries dinner at Ty’s, and you’ll have an opportunity to participate in a raffle for a bunch of great prizes.  Every dollar we raise will go toward the orphans, so we hope all of you will buy a dinner ticket and bless these precious children!

Make & Bake Sale May 29

Speaking of fund raisers, we’ll have one for our Women’s Ministry on Sunday May 29th.  We’d love anything you’d like to donate for this sale: items you bake, buy or otherwise create. If you’d like to help set up, sell or clean up, please let Kim Ohst know by emailing or texting or calling her at There will be a sign up in the lobby on Sunday.

Women’s Retreat October 21-23

We’re going to Pine Valley this year.  More details will be released in the coming months, but we wanted to give you the pricing so you can begin to save for the retreat.  You can make payments weekly or monthly. just be sure to make note that the payment is for the retreat when you contribute online or in person at church.  Costs: $210 private bath lodge, $190 shared bath lodge, $165 dorm room.

Southern California Vineyard Regional Retreat

It’s time to get together with our Vineyard family here in California! The Central and Southern California regional conference is coming up on June 23-25th at Inland Vineyard Church in Corona, CA.  It’s time to worship, enjoy who we are as the Vineyard, pray for one another, and laugh and connect as we always have.  Find all the information and register at  It really is getting close, so I encourage you to register ASAP.  I have, and I hope a bunch of you will join me for a really great conference together.  Many of you don’t know a lot about the Vineyard movement that our church is part of, and I think you’ll be really inspired and filled with vision for the future as we come together with our Vineyard family from Central and Southern California.

And that’s it for this week’s update.  I’ll see the guys on Saturday for our Men’s breakfast and the rest of you on Sunday morning for worship! For those who need to stay home on Sunday, you can join us online via Zoom at Meeting ID: 812 2225 0027, Password: 006314.

With love and blessings to each of you,

Ron Ohst
