Happy Saturday Grace Vineyard Family and Friends,

It’s Saturday after 5pm, so I better get on it if I’m gonna get you a Weekly Update this week!

February has already been quite a month, and there’s a lot more life in store for the 2nd half.  We had a GREAT men’s breakfast this morning.  French Toast, Potatoes, Bacon…the food was so good this morning (Thank you Matt and Craig for manning the Blackstone griddle), and the worship and fellowship and message that Steve Rogers brought were even better.  If you missed this one, guys, I’ll tell you a little later in this email how you can register for the upcoming Men’s Retreat and get in on the great times with the Men of Grace.  Kim tells me the Ladies Walk was also really great this morning.  Before I tell you about upcoming gatherings in February, let me mention our plans for tomorrow morning.

Baptism Sunday, February 15

We are having a baptism service in church tomorrow morning.  Seven people have signed up!  I’m planning on bringing a shortened message on the Powerful Ordinance of Baptism – basically looking at the scriptures to help us understand how very powerful baptism is.  Here’s a key pass of scripture that I want to look at with us briefly:

Romans 6:1-4

1 What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2 By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? 3 Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

Now that’s some power right there! One way to say it is that water baptism is an outward sign of an inward reality – we have been baptized into the very death of Christ and are then raised into a new life with the same resurrection power that raised Jesus from the dead (going under the waters of baptism symbolizes death and burial, and coming up out of the water symbolized resurrection).  When we get to the baptisms, we’ll try to take our time and invite the Holy Spirit to minister to each one.  So, come prepared to listen to the Holy Spirit as we pray for these brothers and sisters.  He just may give you a word encouragement to bless them with.

Last Week – Good News in Broken Vessels

We were delighted to host Damas Kamfwa, the national director of the Vineyard Churches in Zambia last Sunday.  He brought a really inspirational message from 2 Kings 7, and if you missed it, you’ll definitely want to catch it on our Youtube channel.  Here it is (above) for your convenience.  If you are unable to join us in person tomorrow, here’s the info you need to join us online:  you can join us online on Zoom with this link Zoom Meeting ID  153 112 432, Passcode 684814 and you can also find our livestream on Facebook Live at facebook.com/gracevcf.

Grace Vineyard Merch Shop

Ever wish you had a Grace Vineyard hoodie?  Well, we’ve created an online Grace Vineyard Merch Shop.  You go online and purchase things like hoodies, hats, totes, mugs, etc that our team has created, they make one for you, and ship it directly to you. When we created the site, we chose the option where the church makes no money from these sales, so the prices you see are the lowest this company has. It’s a fun way to represent our church family and to start conversations that might easily turn into “Holy Hello’s”. You can get to the shop at this link: https://grace-vineyard-merch.myspreadshop.com, or you can just use the QR code in the graphic above.  Is there something you’d like to see there that isn’t there already? Just ask and we’ll see if we can make it available for you.
