Hello Grace Vineyard and Friends!

It’s time for our weekly update.  I hope you’re having another great week in beautiful San Diego County.

Last Sunday was so much fun at the Block Party.  I was very happy that so many of you were able to be there.  Here’s a photo collage of some of the pics I found from your facebook pages:

Could do me a favor, please?  If you took any photos that night, could you send them to us at info@gracevcf.org, so we can have a copy at the church office?

Sunday Nights at Grace

Of course last Sunday night’s event was special party to kick off Sunday Nights at Grace.  We hope you’ll join us again this Sunday night at 6pm for our new Sunday Night service.  Please note we changed the format  a little from what we were originally describing. Here’s a more up to date look at the service – we’ll have worship led by a variety of worship leaders, Steve Rogers will bring a message from the Word, we’ll have ministry time, making Spirit-led prayer available to everyone who needs a touch from the Lord, and of course we’ll have rich fellowship together. If you have any questions or would like to see if there’s a place for you to serve on Sunday nights, please contact Steve Rogers at 760-500-4324 or srogers@gracevcf.org.

This Sunday – Rich and Stacy Davis

This Sunday we are excited to welcome back Rich and Stacy Davis, our missionaries to Kenya.  Rich and Stacy will be giving us an update on their work in Kenya, and Rich will be preaching a message on the Paradoxes in our Faith.  I think you’re going to love it Sunday!

We’re meeting in person on Sundays, but we’re also continuing to provide an online service via Zoom and facebook live.  The info you need for the online meeting is:

Men’s Ministry

We’ve got a few important updates from the Men’s Minsistry:

Big Texas BBQ on Monday

First – don’t forget that we are meeting with Men from some of the churches in North County as we look to form a regional men’s ministry together.  The guys at The River Family church are providing a Big Texas BBQ for all of us on Monday night, August 2nd, at The River Gardens (this is where we met for Easter Sunday) at 390 Mimosa Ave, in Vista at 6PM.  They’re telling me it’s “all you can eat” and it’s completely free for us!  So come on out on Monday, guys.

Secondly – we are planning our Men’s Retreat for March 18-20.  Even though that sounds far away, our men’s ministry director, Snake (Richard Ertel), is really wanting to get a good count of the guys that want to go so we can let the retreat center know.  We are super happy to be back up at Palomar Christian Conference Center again.  Please reach out to Snake either at church on Sunday morning, or contact him at 760-622-4572 or rertel777@gmail.com.

Thirdly – it’s almost time for our Men’s Breakfast at Ty’s Burger House.  We meet there every 2nd Saturday of the month at 8am for a great biscuits and gravy breakfast, worship, prayer, and an inspirational message.  For August 14th, our speaker will be Brian Sliffe!

Seussical Jr. This Friday and Saturday

We want to remind you that this is the 2nd and final weekend of Seussical Jr.  I went last weekend, and the show was great!  This weekend they have shows on Friday at 7pm, and Saturday at 2pm and 7pm.  California Artist’s Academy has been partnering with Grace Vineyard for many years, and we are so happy to see the youth able to perform again after a long break due to covid-19.  I’d encourage you to come on out and support them for a very entertaining program.

Baptism and BBQ Sunday August 22nd at 12pm

We are preparing to do another baptism at the beach!  If you have made the decision to follow Jesus, did you know you’re called to also get baptized? We like to make it a celebration for the whole church family, so we’ll do the baptism at noon after church on Sunday, August 22nd, and we’ll follow it up with a BBQ.  We’ll meet at Tyson Park (which means those of you who don’t exactly love the sand can stay on the grass!), and do the baptism in the ocean right in front of the park.  If you’d like to get baptized, of if you have any questions, please contact Steve Rogers at 760-500-4324 or srogers@gracevcf.org.

And that’s all the news I have for you today!   Looking forward to worshiping with you on Sunday morning!

Blessings and love,

Ron Ohst
